What ASTM F136 really means
Implant grade
ASTM F136 is the titanium standard used for pieces that stay in the body. It is the grade reputable piercers put in a fresh piercing, not a look alike alloy.
Grade 23, Ti 6Al 4V ELI
Grade 23 is the extra low interstitial titanium alloy behind ASTM F136. Strong, light, and smooth, so nothing rough sits against your piercing.
Nickel free in composition
No nickel in the alloy, so no green skin and no itchy reaction. This is the reason people with sensitive skin switch to titanium.
The studio standard
The same material family a good piercer would use. We do not water it down to hit a lower price, we just cut out the markup.
Two finishes, same titanium
Natural Titanium
Natural Titanium
The raw metal, mirror polished to a soft silver shine. No coating to wear off, so the finish is as durable as the titanium itself.
Gold PVD
Gold PVD
A warm gold tone bonded to the titanium by PVD, a hard vacuum coating made to hold its colour far longer than cheap plating. Backed by our 2 year replacement if the colour ever fades.
Made only for the Ashley
One piercing. One material done properly.
